Emi must be very happy because there were so many delicacies in her dreamland. She dreamed of strawberries, cranberries, red apples, green apples, and became good friends with bananas in her dreams. What a cheerful moment that they went hand in hand to enjoy the stunning golden-yellow sunset together.
These dreams were really beautiful, but there was something wrong, Emi thought. Because she never dreamed of her favourite food, blueberries. Emi then tried to get blueberries into her dreams. She ate blueberries at every meal, put blueberries in front of her, and kept looking at them. She even took Blueberry into her arms like a soft bear toy and slept with her. However, the shy blueberry never appeared in Emi’s dream.
Is it better to give up? Or should I keep trying? Emi couldn’t decide.
Perhaps because she was too tired from thinking hard, she had fallen asleep unknowingly while the sun had not yet set. Not long after, her mother woke her up.
“Sweet Emi!”
Emi rubbed her eyes. In a semi-awake state, she looked at her mother.
Huh? It’s not her mother; it was a big blueberry!
“Lovely little Emi, I’m here to visit you!” Blueberry gave her a warm smile.
Emi rubbed her eyes again, and she widened her eyes curiously. She saw clearly that her mother was in front of her, not Blueberry.
“Mom, are you a blueberry?”
Mom felt puzzled and replied gently, “I’m Mom, not Blueberry.”
“I just saw you as a blueberry.”
Mom smiled and said, “You were dreaming, right?”
“Really?” Emi was delighted, maybe she really dreamed of a blueberry?
“Maybe? But as soon as I approached you, you suddenly woke up.”
“Didn’t you wake me up?”
Mom shook her head: “I haven’t called you yet.”
Emi was overjoyed when she heard this, and she said happily, “Mom, I really dreamed! Blueberry had finally come to my dream!”
Mom held Emi’s hand and said, “Then, you will definitely have a very sweet dream tonight!”
Although this blueberry dream was very short-lived, Emi was still in a cheery mood for a long time. Until the moon hung high in the sparkling sky, until Emi gently closed her eyes and felt the warmth of the bed, until she fell into a wonderful dream again……
