It was a bright and sunny day. Happy E. Ding was going to Fragrance’s house with joyful jumping. She cheerfully took a treasure in her hand, not in the bag, nor was it wrapped firmly. She thought it was okay because she wanted everyone to see her treasure.
“Good morning, E. Ding, you’re so early today!” Hard-working Mr. Bee, collecting honey among the flowers, smiled and said a friendly hello to E. Ding.
Happy E. Ding held up her treasure and said, “Good morning, Mr. Bee! Look, this is my book!”
Mr. Bee saw E. Ding’s book had a big, pretty rainbow on the cover that caught his eye. “Wow! I like the rainbow. It must be a good book!”
E. Ding’s eyes sparkled, “Thank you so much, Mr. Bee!”
As E. Ding walked, another friend, Mother Swallow, greeted E. Ding: “Good morning, sweet E. Ding!”
E. Ding held up her book with both hands, “Good morning, Mother Swallow! Look, this is my book!”
When Mother Swallow heard this, she flew to E. Ding and looked at her book.
“Lovely E. Ding, I love it! There are so many beautiful heart-shaped clouds around the rainbow. They warmed my heart!”
E. Ding smiled brightly, “Thank you very much! Mother Swallow! I love you!”
Walking and walking, happy E. Ding finally arrived at Fragrance’s home. She knocked on the door, put her book to her chest and waited for Fragrance. A while later, Fragrance opened the door with a big smile!
As soon as E. Ding saw Fragrance, she said excitedly: “Look, this is my book!”
“Wow! That’s awesome! This is my book as well!” Fragrance said in a cheerful voice.
Both E. Ding and Fragrance had their self-made books. They had discussed how to make books yesterday, and wanted to try making them. Furthermore, they agreed to exchange them for reading today.
The names of the books are “E. Ding ‘s Book” and “Fragrance’s Book”. They drew the things they liked on the covers. E. Ding liked rainbows, and Fragrance liked sunflowers. The inside page is their “achievements”. E. Ding’s achievements included helping her mother wash vegetables and going on an adventure in the forest with her father.
What about Fragrance? In the book, she recorded climbing trees and learning about magic to conjure bubbles.
E. Ding and Fragrance were joyfully reading each other’s books. They were looking forward to recording more achievements in the future.
The achievements on every page were their precious experiences, just like the rainbows and sunflowers they loved, which would always make them over the moon.

Postscript:
I wrote this story because I made our book with my nephew. We drew what we liked on the covers and recorded our achievements that day on the inside pages, just like what E. Ding and Fragrance did.
My nephew happily said that it was his own book. And he was so cute that he kissed his book eagerly when it was done.
