Thinking outside the box and doing things we would not normally do may bring us new surprises and satisfaction.
Painting is something I often do, but in the process, I can still make discoveries and have new experiences. One reason is that I’ve been enjoying colouring lately.
The airport should be something I have never drawn before. The airport in the colouring book didn’t give me much interest as well. However, I was thinking yesterday, why don’t I just try it? So, I started thinking about how to colour it. This “how” includes the order of colouring, which colour, which colour system, etc.
I decided to colour the sky first. Is it daytime? Or nighttime? These two choices are the first to come to mind, and I also feel that it must be day or night. But when I think about it again, I think, “Why not dusk”? Then, I painted this dusk dyed orange-yellow, intertwined with pink and light blue. When it was finished, I thought it was beautiful, something I hadn’t thought of before.
After that, I had to decide which colour system should be used for the airport. How do you want the airport decoration to feel? What colour should the girl’s clothing be? What does she like?
I also learned to control inertial thinking, such as airport chairs, which I really wanted to fill in dark blue. Since the background is light blue to varying degrees, I usually want to use dark blue as the colour of the chair. But if I paint it like this, it will highlight the existence of the chairs, and I hope they don’t have to be too eye-catching. So, I thought about it again and again. I tried using light grey with a little light blue, and then I thought it was good.
I thought about it, drew and painted, and finally completed it, and I was very satisfied. The airport at dusk was beyond my expectations.
Painting is a field that I am familiar with, but I can still learn a little bit of breakthrough and taste new pleasures in it. In our lives, can’t it be like this occasionally?
