Japanese sushi brings me so much joy, and Little Emi absolutely loves these sushi friends too! I hope this series brings a little warm and delightful sunshine into your day.

Here is a story about Salmon Sushi and Little Emi:
Little Emi and Salmon Sushi were both getting upset—and all because the ocean in front of them seemed to look completely different to each! Emi saw a deep blue ocean, while Salmon Sushi saw a vibrant green one. They had been happily admiring the sea together, but as they began discussing its colour, the conversation slowly turned into a heated argument.
“The sea is such a beautiful shade of blue!” Emi said, completely enchanted.
Salmon Sushi furrowed his brows, “Blue? Isn’t it green?”
Feeling a little puzzled, Emi replied, “No, silly, it’s definitely a blue sea!”
Salmon Sushi looked just as confused, “No, it’s not! It’s green—a truly gorgeous green!”
Now, both of them were thoroughly baffled. “It’s blue!” Emi insisted.
“It’s green!” Salmon Sushi snapped back.
And so, they went back and forth, arguing over the colour of the sea, neither willing to yield a single inch.
Meanwhile, the bright white sunlight reflected off the sea’s surface, creating thousands of shimmering sparks over the water. They glittered like stars, or like millions of fireflies dancing in the breeze. These sparkling silver-white dots belonged not to the dark night, but to the tranquil, midday sea. Along the shore, gentle waves stroked the soft sand to the rhythm of the warm wind, beating softly and steadily, taking its sweet time.
Captivated by the soothing sight, Emi and Salmon Sushi suddenly had a moment of realisation. All at once, neither of them wanted to argue anymore.
With a peaceful heart, Emi broke the silence softly, “Salmon Sushi… I think there’s a special colour that is both blue and green at the same time.”
“Really? Let me think…” Salmon Sushi paused, his eyes suddenly lighting up with delight. “Ah! I think that’s Tiffany Blue!” He beamed with pride, thrilled that he had managed to remember such a fancy name!
Emi gasped with joy, feeling as though she had just found a true soulmate: “Yes! Grandpa told me about it before, but I almost forgot! That’s it—Tiffany Blue!”
Salmon Sushi gazed back out at the shimmering water and said softly, “This ocean is a beautiful Tiffany Blue.”
Emi nodded eagerly in agreement. Then, with a happy bounce, she jumped right in front of Salmon Sushi and wrapped him up in a big, warm bear hug, pressing her soft cheek tightly against his: “You are a beautiful Salmon Sushi, and you are my wonderful best friend!”
Salmon Sushi’s heart melted into pure warmth in an instant: “Little Emi, you are my most wonderful companion, too!”
